Duration : acclimatization, 2 days and 10 days in trekking mountain.
Itinerary:
The first day of trekking, we advanced from the Olleros town (2900 m.) in direction to Agocancha, where we initiated the circuit and we followed in the direction of quebrada Rurec, to reach the Tararhua lake, nailed closet of a circus mountain glacier (Rurec (5.700 ms.) and Uruashraju (5.722 ms.) On this point we reached the 4.300 m.
The second day we initiated the ascent of the first pass (4.650 ms.) and crossing the quebrada Rajucolta, where we encamped close of the lake with the same name, that is located under the Huantsán (6354 m.), whose walls of ice and rock do, it of most difficult and dangerous in the zone. The lake has 4.200 ms.
During the third day we crossed a step glacier without too many technical difficulties nor dangers objectives, is necessary something of equipment glacier since almost it is reached the 5.000 meters of height to accede to the following gorge, Shallap, where we realised the respective camping on the lake of the same name (4.250 ms.)
The fourth day we reached the pass of Quilcayhuanca, where, sometimes, the sighting of immense Andean condors is possible. Also heights are reached superiors to the 4.500 ms. But on this day, sufficiently we will be acclimated for it. Always surrounded besides mountains by the cordillera Blanca.
After the fifth day, we will reach the impressive Cuchillacocha lake (4,350m.) surrounded again, of a mountain circus where very few people have access. Made snow-white with heights superiors to 6.000 m. like the Chinchey, Pucaranra, Palcaraju they would dominate the surroundings of our camping.
Day six, we initiated a section of trekking without too much difficulty, in addition it is relatively close. This is realised for the purposes of would obtain " descanso" on the march but without losing the rate of trekking, since still they lack several days for his culmination. This day we arrived until the Palcacocha lake. (4.250 m.)
Seventh day. - Again it hopes a step to us glacier to reach the quebrada Ishinca. The height of this step always borders the 5.000 meters and is here where we have 2 options of encamped: First it is, to descend until the end of the glacier and to encamp on the Ishinca lake (4.300 ms.) and to second encamping on the same glacier (5,000 m, that is a beautiful plain of where the gigantic North face of the Ranrapalca is observed (6.112 ms.) and the totality of the route towards the 5.530 meters of the snow-covered Ishinca, our central objective of this trip.
During the Eighth day, already sufficiently acclimated, we reached the summit of the Ishinca (5.530 ms.) by its South ridge, to realise the down by the North ridge and to reach the environs of very concurred quebrada Ishinca, where we realised our last camping. The ascent is net glacier with some inclinations at the end of the route and some crevasses on the South route that we will surpass mainly with mountain equipment and the mountain guide. This zone presents/displays one of the best views of the cordillera Blanca (Tocllaraju and Palcaraju, both with heights superiors to the 6.000 meters.
The ninth day, we surpassed the last passage of height to enter, from Ishinca, to the qebrada Akilpo, where we encamped near its precious lake (4.250 ms.) with view again to mountains like the Tocllaraju, where we can locate clearly to its South edge east by where we will see descend some climbers at the end of afternoon.
Day 10, we will cross, from the quebrada Akilpo, a spectacular forest of " queñuales" , typical trees of high zones with special characteristics . Finally, we reached the archaeological complex of Honcopampa, that presents/displays constructions with thousands of years of antiquity, located on a esplanade with view, again, to the North zone of the cordillera Blanca.
