Duration : acclimatization, 2 days and 7 days in mountain bike.
The first day, from Huaraz, we will move to Recuay town (3400 m.) in our transport, thence we will initiate an ascent of 34 kilometers to "tunnel de Kawish" (4450 m), entrance to the Conchucos valley. We will cross the beautiful Querococha lake.
Our camping will be to the front of the archaeological complex of Chavín de Huantar. (3200 m.)
Day 2. - We will visit the archaeological complex very early and will go to the town of San Marcos (3200 m.) From here, we will initiate a descent and a strong ascent to Huari town (3160 m.) We will raise by space of 2 hours until the precious Purhueycocha lake (4000 m.) the 4 last kilometers are powerful more but the landscape from the lake is spectacular.
20 km flat and indown and 25 in ascent.
Day 3, We will initiate a hard ascent up to 2 Lakes located to 4600 m. This ascent discure by beautiful valleys and towns until reaching last slopes in zig zag. All the ascent has about 30 km Thence we will descend until the beautiful town of San Luis (3.130 ms.), On a part of the slope, we will observe the cordillera Blanca, including the Alpamayo.
Here we will spend the third and fourth night. The down has about 20 km.
Day 4. - We will take this day of rest We will go in our transport, without bicycles, to the town of Chacas, located to one hour of San Luis. We will visit the world wide famous "taller de artesanos de Chacas"
The fifth day we will be descending (20 km) through a narrow tube to reach a small bridge of where we will initiate one ascent of about 20 kilometers until the town of Yanama (3400 m.) This zone of the way presents small ascents and slopes, besides flat zones where again we will find towns and very amiable people.
Day 6.- will be an ascent until the pass "portachuelo of Llanganuco" (4750 m.) This day will be quite demanding by the accumulated kilometers and the height. One will cross about 30 km of ascent and 25 in descent to Yuraccorral (3800 m. or LLanganuco lake. T
he views from Portachuelo de Llanganuco are really spectacular.
Day 7. - Descent to Yungay town (2500 m.) This part will be about 25 km of slope until the warm town of Yungay, we will see numerous towns and incredible views of South Huascarán (6768 M.s)
From we will return here in our transport to Huaraz
