MOUNTAIN BIKE TRIP - 380 km.
4 DAYS.
From Lima we travel by bus to Huaraz (3,090m), a bustling highland city ideally located at the foot of the giant peaks of the Cordillera Blanca. The Cordillera Blanca has over thirty peaks above 6,000m, making it the highest tropical range on earth.
After a period of acclimatisation in and around Huaraz, we set off down the Callejon de Huaylas, then climb eastwards into the wicawain
archaeological complex
( 2 hours )
In all the route we cross a typical andenean village, Cajamarquilla, pampas grande, Huayash ( in tne sierra and coast ), where we get an impression of the life of the indigenous population
Itinerary
Day 1: Huaraz -Callán Punta - Cajamarquilla village (3360m.)
In the morning, we ascent from Huaraz, to Callán punta pass (4200 m. - 30 km.)
Callanpunta, in the Cordillera Negra, from here we will enjoy the nice views of the Cordillera Blanca Range, then after to have a short sightsing and walk and some pictures
Descento to Cajamarquilla
- rest in tipical house of the andes.
Day 2: Ascent to Castilla punta (4300 m. )
Optional part the ascent in bus
the route is through a "bosque de puyas"
Descent to tipical village Pampas Grande (3,660 ).
In this place it is possible seen the better sunset in Peru.
- rest in tipical house of the andes.
Day 3.- Early, we will descent to Huanchay (1500 m.) village.
From this place, all the route is for the coast.
Arrival to Huayash village (800 m.)
- rest in tipical house of the peruvian coast.
Day 4.- Huayash village to coast of Huarmey city.
25 km.
Rest in this city.
Visit tuquillo beach.
(camp in the beach - optional )
Recommended date : all the year.
