Duration : acclimatization, 2 days and 6 days in mountain bike.
The first day, from Huaraz and always with view to the cordillera Blanca mountains, we went to the Catac (3400 m) town. Where we initiated an ascent by a dirt road that ascends around by the quebrada Pachacoto with many mountains. We will soon reach a zone of gasified waters and cave paintings to reach the first camping, high to almost 4700 meters.
30 km in ascent.
Day 2. - We will arrive on 30 m. a first pass, Huarapasca (4750m. - 3 km) of where we will realise one short descent by Andean valleys high until reaching one second and more extensive ascent than will lead to a second pass, Yanashayash (4650 m - 15 km). We initiate a spectacular and extensive descent until the town of Huallanca (3100 m. - 25 km) of where we will follow by one hour until the town of the La Union (3000 m - 10 km) in the Huánuco region. Finally we will promote until Huanuco Pampa (8 km), an archaeological complex where we will encamp 3500 m..
Day 3. - From Huanuco Pampa, we will again descend towards the town from the La Unión. This zone is of valleys. From the Union, we will cross We will ascend more by 2 hours to the Pachas town (3500 m) where we will realise the third rest.
20 km of ascent. In this zone the towns and green zones by all the route abound.
Day 4. - From Pachas we will again initiate a descent (20 km) to a river, and will ascent to Chavinillo town (3200 m. - 25 km) This day is short, presents green valleys of culture and some populations in all the route.
We will realise the respective rest in this town.
Day 5. - We will to " Punta Union" pass (4010 m. - 15 km) that marks the definitive descent to the city of Huánuco, one of the centers populated older with Peru. The climate change that we will be feeling is truly spectacular, much rural vegetation, ways, towns with very amiable people, waterfall, rivers, etc.
A really paradisiac place, while we happened of the Andean forest.
5 kilometers before arriving at the city, we will visit the temple of " manos cruzadas" , older archaeological places of sud America. After visiting the place, we will go the city of Huánuco (2000 m.), where we will rest near its place of arms. Total of descent 40 km.
Day 6. - We will initiate the last section of the trip, 35 kilometers in ascent to the tunnel of Carpish (2700 m.) In this point and after crossing the totality of the tunnel, we will initiate the final descet towards the forest of Tingo Maria. The fruit trees, their people as well as animal sounds in the forest and the heat of the atmosphere, will cause that we forget the fatigue and the fatigue after to have crossed 6 spectacular days in mountain bike, a true spectacle seen it cross all these landscapes and feel in own meat the change of climates and cultures in the passage.
We will arrive at the city of Tingo Maria (900 m.) where we will rest of the trip and we will prove the peculiar food and drink of the amazonian.
90 km in spectacular descent….
